(More customer reviews)People diagnosed with an incurable disease are too-often targets of terribly unscrupulous or questionable methods of helping or curing them. When conventional medicine cannot cure us it is, to some degree, understandable. Dr. Bowling has put together a well-researched book that briefly discusses CAMs and various therapies, including yoga, tai chi, dietary supplements, vitamins and so forth. Each is briefly described, treatment method discussed, any known scientific research is summarized, side effects noted, practical information listed, and a conclusion and additional reading sources detailed. Dr. Bowling does note that some therapies, while not proven to help those with MS, may seem to help because of the "placebo effect." If it causes no harm, why not try it? However, some of these therapies can be detrimental to those with MS and it is wise to know what those are. This is a book for those who want objective and documented information. Some will claim it is biased against CAMs or undocumented therapies, but I did not find that to be the case. I found it very helpful.

Only drank this juice, which was suprisingly good tasting. Also it does not make you poop which I thought, but thats a good thing. So its not a cleanser. Only problem is that you will probably gain the weight back if you start eating normal.

Natures Way Alive Liquid Multi-Vitamin Review

(More customer reviews)I came across Alive from the recommendations of a co-worker. I am interested in supplements, organic foods, etc in keeping the body healthy and like the idea that this product comes from the expelled nutrients from plants, mushrooms and other sources.
First people notice is the color and taste. On some sights people refer to this product as "swamp juice". Initially I took the vitamins as a cap full shot every morning, followed by drinking some juice or water. The taste is not terrible, but it's better to not let it linger. I found mixed results with this method though, since in the morning I often was taking this on an empty stomach. I would get the nausea associated with taking any heavy dose on an empty stomach. But if you take this vitamin as a shot you will probably feel a instant charge of energy, or in the following minutes, much like a shot of caffeine or oxygen. It quite surprised me the first time it happened, Alive indeed!
Now the method I use it to fill a BPA free water bottle with 1/3 water, the cap full of Alive vitamin, and then the remainder with a fruit juice (either orange or grapefruit). This makes a tasty beverage that I can sip on all day and slowly absorb the vitamins instead of receiving them all in a shocking jolt.
Between this and the other supplements I take (Zinc, Vit C) I did not get any flu or cold this winter, and I work with kids for a living.
With my next statement realize I have no medical expertise at all, and obviously check with a Dr concerning any issues with medication, supplements or other treatment. Disclaimer aside: I suffer from clinical major-depression. It terrible to deal with in the winter time especially. I often react very poorly to anti-depressants since I don't enjoy taking pharmaceuticals and can usually feel the side effects pretty severely.
I swear that this has been the cheapest, most effective step in helping me use holistic methods to combat depression. It gives me an extra boost and I feel like body and brain are humming along much better, which gives me motivation to exercise, meditate, etc. It helps maintain this UPWARD cycle! So I have written off the cost of Alive as I'd rather pay $25 a month for this vitamin than hundreds for medications that have mixed results.
So although this takes more effort than just popping a pill I would say it's well worth that effort. I have been taking it for about 6 months straight and while I don't feel that super blast of energy anymore I feel like my daily level of energy, mental health and creativity has taken a boost! (More customer reviews)Albeit skeptical, I bought a bottle of the Hollywood 48-hour Miracle Diet. First, I was amazed at how great it tasted. It has a tasty citrus flavor...something like orange and pineapple juice. Second, I was further amazed when I saw that I lost a total of 8.5 pounds! It worked! The only problem I experienced was that I felt very hungry, because there's nothing in the juice to curb your appetite. So, I ended up eating one small (sensible) meal a day both days (although I wasn't suppose to). Yet, I still managed to lose 8.5 pounds! I would definitely recommend this miracle diet to anyone. But beware, that you may end up feeling hungry for 48 hours.

He is also notoriously picky about his food and often does not eat enough proteins, which has become an even bigger concern since we started pulling the milk from his diet. Since he has poor muscle tone which does not respond to exercise I cut the dose down by body weight and started him on these to see if they would help him out.(don't do this unless you are a health professional such as myself or under the supervision of one)
He has responded very well to the 1 tsp/day dosage and now we actually don't see ribs on his chest and back. He has more energy and is getting a little bit more strength in his legs over the last 3 months he has been taking them. Rather than lounging lifelessly on the couch for a good portion of the day he is up and active again. These aminos also have vitamins packed in there, many of them are very beneficial to DS as well.
2 negatives - the taste and the absence of Methly B-12 in favor of the cyanocobalamin which tends to be more poorly absorbed. The taste is quite horrid and I am proud of DS for being a trooper and taking these on a daily basis. Mind you, we also take Alpha Lipoic Acid Liquid which is AWFUL tasting, as well as other liquid suppliments so we aren't big into complaining about taste. These are far worse..even my DH (who loves these BTW) still can't get used to the punch these deliver. He also reports a much higher energy level and quicker recovery from his strenuous workouts from taking these at 1/3 the recommended dosage. Any higher he feels they give him a bit too much energy than he needs. They do provide results which is why we suffer through it! I think strawberry would be a better flavor to be honest..
I found the Subscribe and Save price to be the best around.

(More customer reviews)I was a runner for over 25 years. I raced a lot including 11 marathons. I'd estimate that I've put in enough running miles to have run around the world at the equator, if that was physically possible.
In any case, I've had very few problems with running injuries. Perhaps the one big exception is recurring sore ankles in my later years. At one point, they were sore enough that I not only had to stop running, I was having trouble walking. At that point I started using a product called "Joint Juice," and I experienced a bit of relief. I didn't go back to running, however. I was discussing the situation with a friend and he said that "Joint Juice" contained only glucosamine and that I needed a product containing both glucosamine and chondroitin. My friend is very knowledgeable about endurance sports and associated overuse injuries, I should add.
So, I picked up a large bottle of Kirkland Signature Extra Strength Glucosamine and Chondroitin tablets. I chose the Kirkland product because it was highly rated and available at a reasonable price. I'd say my ankles are now much better. Much better! They're so much better, in fact, that I'm now considering going into training for 5K and, eventually, 10K runs. Perhaps I might add that I'm 73 years old and I'd love to get back to racing.

(More customer reviews)What an overpriced disappointment. All I taste is excess sweetness from Stevia. Why are almost all green formulas sweetened? Either you want the greens or not, but don't change the taste with a sweetener.
It's also loaded with Lecithin, an inexpensive soy by-product used as a filler and promoted as something good.... it's not.
The only greens formula I know without sweeteners and fillers is Garden of Life Perfect Food, the Original Formula. Better yet, make your own green powders from Barley or Wheat grass, Chlorella, Spirulina, and Alfalfa powder from NOW Foods .

(More customer reviews)In the past I've taken multi-vitamins and felt as if they just weren't really doing anything for me. As a result, I stop taking them and over time didn't really feel any different. (Either positive or negative.)
Recently my Dad and I began taking these and over the course of 3 weeks we both felt overall better. It increased both of our energy levels and even improved (not to get gross) our "bathroom habits."
We ran out of them and stopped taking them for about a week and 1/2 and did we notice a difference! Less energy and a slight change in "movements."
I picked up more vitamins for both of us and we noticed the change again rather quickly.
I have never really been the type of person who endorses or depends on vitamins, but I would definitely recommend these to others and have done so to my friends and family.
