(More customer reviews)Janice VanCleave's Chemistry For Every Kid is a must have book for upper elementary/middle school science teachers. The experiments are easy to set up and the kids LOVE them! Janice has tackled tough Chemistry concepts and come up with simple experiments that the kids ACTUALLY understand! I have used the activities in this book numerous times and couldn't recommend this book highly enough. The way I use the activities in this book, along with the others in the series, is set them up as stations and have the kids rotate through them. You will not be disappointed with this purchase and your kids will love you for it.

(More customer reviews)I am responsible for feeding four males daily (one of whom is my husband), all of whom are such picky eaters that I come close to pounding my head with the cast-iron Le Creuset cookware I bought before I had children. However, these are mighty fine recipes, most of which will get eaten around these parts if I'm not hiding chopped broccoli in them. In addition, Ann reminds us in the nicest possible way that in this world, being a picky eater is sheer luxury, and then rolls up her sleeves and gets to it. As in her previous (and also highly recommended, by me) cookbooks, Beat This! and Beat That!, Ann admits freely that there is a time and a place in the kitchen for time-saving convenience foods, cleverly disguised. And if that argument goes over with me--when I lived in Berkeley, I used to grind my own flour, for God's sake--it should to you, too. The Roz Chast illustrations are a treat. The holidays are coming, so buy this book for anyone who can boil water. I'll be watching.

Feeding the Whole Family: Cooking with Whole Foods Review

(More customer reviews)I have the first edition of this cookbook and it rates up there with my 5 most used cookbooks. I have bought multiple copies and given them as gifts to friends and family members. I cook primarily whole foods for my family, which in common terms means that I cook from scratch about 18-20 of our 21 weekly meals. Many of these recipes can be made quickly (30 minutes) with some planning.
The author gives wonderful advice for cooking beans, basic recipes for various grains and family favorite sauces. Most of the soup recipes are staples in our house. The introduction of 'new' and different grains...millet, quinoa, buckwheat...is a great way to add variety to your family's diet and most are quick and easy to make. Our culture eats far too much wheat and making some wheat-free meals is a welcome change in most families.
If I had just 1 box of books I could keep, this would be one of the books I would be sure made its way into the box.

(More customer reviews)Just to be clear, this only includes ONE holder. Also, it's HUGE. If you are getting this for a toddler, look elsewhere. This thing will look like the Holy Grail Chalice in your child's hand. It's not far off from being one of those giant wide mouth margarita glasses.
It's too big for both my 2 year old and my 4 year old and it's size makes it impractical for storing on the shelf too.
We got a set of two kid sized holders at the 99 cent store for . . . 99 cents and when one of them turned up missing we thought this was good alternative. If the kids were 10 years old it might be usable, but it's WAY over priced.
If you have one of those giant Frankenstein children, and a recently remodeled kitchen with oodles of space, and nearly $7 for one piece of injection molded plastic seems like a good deal, then this is probably right for you!

(More customer reviews)My child loved these bars for a while but then got burned out on them. They are a bit sweet and I didn't realize that until I tried to eat one to get rid of the last few. It was my mistake to buy so many before tasting them myself, so I hope other people try them out first. It did serve as a healthier snack for my child for several months so I am grateful for the product.
The expiration date is a great indication that they are all natural and do not have a bunch of preservatives in them, so I threw the leftovers in the compost.

(More customer reviews)My 20 month son loves these pouches. We call them "squeezers" and any time I ask him if he wants one he gets extremely excited and says, "yeah yeah yeah!!"
At less than half the price of Revolution Foods and Plum organics versions, these are a great alternative. I realize these are not organic, but they are all natural and there is no added sugar, so I still feel good about giving them to my child. At .16/oz (subscribe & save price) they are only slightly more expensive than buying applesauce cups at the supermarket.
I would definitely recommend the GoGo Squeeze for an excellent on-the-go snack. If you're staying at home, I'd suggest trying Mott's "Healthy Harvest" Peach Medley or Summer Strawberry. My son loves those too.

(More customer reviews)Well, Honest Kids should be renamed "Messy Kids". First of all the fruit punch flavor is horrible -- it tastes like rotten fruit or really bad passion fruit. How can you mess up fruit punch?
Secondly, the packaging is a nightmare. Sticking the straw into the top of the bag seems easy enough, but with this packaging, its not. There is no real premade hole to stick the straw in -- you need to force it between the crease at the top of the bag. The problem is that the lining of the pouch is thick, so you need to force it in. Inevitably, juice always squirts out the top once you punch through or you push the straw so hard that it pierces the side of the pouch, leaking juice all over the place. If you are thinking this is like a Caprisun pouch, think again. Avoid this product at all costs, unless you want juice all over your kids hands and clothing.

I wasn't sure at first so I decided to do my research and found that Magnesium Stearate is harmful to liver, causes cell death and depresses the immune system. The amount of fruits and vegetables you get from these is nothing compared to what it is doing to your system. Please don't be cheap and buy this. I would rather you not take fruit and veggies at all.
