This is really a nice and complete cookbook. Has every kind of appetizers, quick and easy together with beautiful pictures. My only complain (that's why only 4 stars) is that when it comes to make pizzas, tarts or rolls, it uses only can refrigerated products; I would have liked the chance to make them on my own.
The book includes
Dips and spreads
Cold appetizers like deviled eggs and stuffed tomatos
Hot appetizers like meatballs and bruschetta
Snacks and beverages, featuring Sangria, different kinds of punches and much more
So in the end I truly recommend it to people searching for easy tried and true recipes without much fuss. Instead, if you want appetizers that you can make from scratch then I'll suggest the appertizer book by Eric Treuille

This is the first book I have retuned to Amazon!
I was, at first, impressed by the per serving numbers given at the bottom of every recipe -- all so wonderfully low! Then when I got around to reading the actual ingredients I found the author expects everyone to eat less than my 9# Shih Tzu (and ingredient combinations most dogs would refuse). The portions are ALL extremely small! Eating only what this author recommends would be a starvation diet for most adult renal patients, and especially for my 210 pound husband. By the time I doubled the portion sizes the nutritional values were near what I usually prepare from my regular recipes using low sodium products, and fresh ingredients.
Many of the recipes had ingredient combinations I would never have tried. I know my husband won't eat any kind of fruit preserves on any kind of meat. Though some of the desserts looked yummy the portions sizes were almost infinitesimal
If the book were $9.95, I probably would have kept it for some of the tips like soaking fresh vegetable overnight to leech out the naturally occurring elements my husband must limit. But at the current price it was not worth it.
Also, there was a printing error which omitted the index pages from the letter D to letter P, but I would have returned it even if all of the pages had been there.

"Casual, satisfying, bold, and unpretentious". That describes this book to a tee. I am a huge fan of NYC bistro dining and have been searching for a book that offers the types of dishes I know and love. Bistro cooking is hearty, warm food with bold flavors and interesting textures. American Bistro offers just that with dishes such as twice-cooked barbecued chicken, chicken pot pie w/parmesan-cheddar crust, braised short ribs and veal chops (two musts haves to see on every bistro menu!). All are simple to prepare and most come with beautiful color pictures of sample presentations. The deserts are sumptious also, but I must admit my favorite are the heath-bar chocolate chip cookies (yes, you've read correctly). These are wonderful. And, served warm from the oven with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, is a bistro desert worthy of any restaurant experience. If you like bistro-type foods or just want to try them out I recommend this book. You will be a bistro cook before you know it!

I was looking for a crock pot cookbook. Most that I have looked at are filled with recipes that I would never fix. My family and I like home-style meals with ingredients that we already have around the house or would normally purchase at the store. Quick Crockery Cooking met both of those demands. This book was filled with great recipes that could be fixed in a short amount of time and then ready at the end of the day when I am too tired to fix something for dinner. It seems anything you cook in a crockpot comes out tasting great. I would definately recommend this book to anyone looking for a crockery cookbook. I first checked it out at our local library and now I am adding it to my wish list.

This is a fun and inspirational book. The author starts out with information on gelatin and takes off from there.Adding tips on solid nibbles to add to the shots. I have tried some of the recipes, and it has inspired me to make up some of my own.
The book itself is laid out nicely with cutesy pictures strewn through out.It is easy to read and even has a feature called fear factor that deals with non-toxic creepy crawlies from the animal kingdom i.e crickets. insect eggs and caviar etc etc...
Some shots are quick to assemble, other require a bit more time and a steady hand.
The challenging aspect to this book is all the ingredients one needs to have for many of these, it could get quite pricey, but many ingredients- with the exception of the gelatin can be substituted.

I was familiar with this cookbook from a friend's copy. Just had to have one myself. Used several recipes out of it and all were good. Have used a crockpot for some of the casseroles that were supposed to be baked in the oven and they turned out delicious.
