(More customer reviews)I picked this up at Borders' today since they are going out of business. At $10 I had to get it for my kitchen shelf to go with my Vampire Wine even if I never use it. lol Yeah the recipes are not anything new but it gets five stars for mentioning Count Duckula. There are some recipes I will definitely try from this. They list a few vampire movies in the back of the book and I only two gripes. One is that they should have listed some vampire tv shows, cartoons/anime, books/manga. I might just write up some and stick in my cookbook for the fun of it as there can never be a complete listing of vampire media. Two is that they mention the Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie. -_-

(More customer reviews)I guess I would give this book more like 4 1/2 stars. My fiance is from New Orleans and I wanted to serve more native dishes but in a healthier way. This book is just the ticket. The only thing I'd change is a few more of the "traditional" recipes but what is in there is very good with easy-to-follow directions. I especially like the way it shows you the difference between the original and lighter recipes. My future mother in law has used the book for years and really likes it. I can't wait to try more recipes.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this book for the drink recipes. The snacks are lagniappe. The introduction is well-written and provides insights into the city and some must-have bar info.
The drinks span the classics, even one form the late 19th century that I;d never heard of. There are new classics and sections for frozen and coffee drinks. The authors were nice enough to include some non-alcoholic beverages.
Use this book to round out your bar recipes or to make sure you're covered for any New Orleans themed party. There are some pictures, I'd prefer one for every drink.
